Bar Hop With Your Dog: Fullsteam Brewery to Motorco’s Garage Bar

A perfect night out for me: have a few beers, listen to some live music, and hang out with Heather and Lou (our dog).
Finding a place to have beers and listen to music isn’t too hard to find in Durham. Finding a pet friendly place that you can have beer, listen to music AND hang out with your dog is a little tougher.
Luckily, I’m about 5 minutes away from Durham’s Motorco Music Hall and Fullsteam Brewery. On the nights that Motorco has their Garage Bar open, it makes for the perfect place to sit and relax with your dog and have a cold brew.
A couple times each week, Motorco pulls open their bay doors to reveal their Garage Bar, the other half of their venue. It has a small stage, a ping pong table and a bar that allows you to sit ‘at the bar’ while technically being outside.
You probably can’t bring your dog inside Motorco (you can bring your dog into Fullsteam), so their Garage Bar allows you to be at the bar, while being outside.
There’s also plenty of benches and tables out front that you can sit and hang out at.
The Garage Bar isn’t open every night so you’ll want to check out their events page (below) if that’s what you’re heading there for.
Food trucks outside Fullsteam Brewery
On most of the nights Motorco’s open, there’s also a couple food trucks parked out front of their bar or across the street at Fullsteam.
On the night we went, there were a couple food trucks like Pie Pushers, Kokyu BBQ and Chick-n-Que. Lou went with the chopped BBQ plate from Chick-n-Que and loved it!
Fullsteam Brewery is a dog friendly bar that lets you bring your well-behaved dog inside. If you’re not familiar with Fullsteam, they’re the pride and joy of North Carolina Beer and a really cool company located in Durham.
